The 2023 Spring Semester Exchange Program Orientation of Tsinghua University School of Economics and Management was held online on February 19. The event was co-hosted by the International Office, Undergraduate and Graduate Student Unions of Tsinghua SEM. There were nearly 60 participants in this orientation. In 2023 spring semester, Tsinghua SEM has received around 30 exchange students from 12 countries and regions, including undergraduate, master's and MBA. The students will complete the exchange program in a mixed form of online and in-person.
Professor HE Ping, the Associate Dean of Tsinghua SEM, gave an opening address first. He expressed his most sincere welcome to all the exchange students, and pictured a vivid vision of diversity and inclusiveness for the exchange program. Quoted from a Chinese poem, “A bosom friend far away brings a distant land near”, Professor HE delivered his best wishes to the exchange students. He said: “I hope the distance will not hinder you from gaining knowledge and experiencing a different culture.” After the address, all the participants took a group photo together to leave the best memory.

After the photo session, in order to better answer the exchange students' questions, the event organizer set up two sub-venues for undergraduate and graduate students. In the sub-venue, they introduced the exchange program of Tsinghua SEM, the student union activities and other contents in detail. Each sub-venue also prepared ice-breaking games for students to grasp a better understanding of Tsinghua in the form of fun quiz. The quiz questions included but not limited to the knowledge of China, Tsinghua and the School. The event ended with warm applause and joyful talks. Students are looking forward to the upcoming new semester with great anticipation.
